The history of the Conducting Department begins with the founding of the B. Beishenalieva Institute of Arts in 1967. The first faculty members of the department were S. Yu. Yusupov, K. I. Aliyev, O. A. Abdyldaev, L. T. Nissembum, A. U. Ukurchinov, M. S. Gurieva, A. K. Muratalieva, B. S. Mambetaliyev, and K. N. Nurmatov.

In 1993, the entire Department of Conducting, consisting of two faculties, was transferred to the Conservatory. At that time, the following faculty members were employed: S. Yu. Yusupov, L. T. Nissenbaum, A. U. Ukurchinov, M. S. Gurieva, A. K. Muratalieva, B. S. Mambetaliyev, M. I. Mambetalieva, and V. D. Gumbin.

During its existence, the department has trained and graduated young conductors who work not only in Kyrgyzstan but also abroad (Kazakhstan, Russia, Germany, and Italy).

Our graduates work in the leading musical groups of the country (Osmonaliev R.M - People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, chief conductor of the State Musical Orchestra named after A. Dzhumakhmatov; Asanaliev E - People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic; Polotov N - People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, chief conductor of the symphony orchestra of the KNTOiB named after A. Maldybaev; Omurbaev N - Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, chief conductor and director of the variety and symphony orchestra of the Kazan National Philosophy named after T. Satylganov; Mamatova G. - People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic and chief choirmaster of the chamber choir of the UTRK).Graduates of our department have joined the Conducting Department at the M. Kurenkeev Karakol National Medical University (O. Kukes, Department Head, Distinguished Cultural Worker; E. Adrakaeva, Senior Lecturer, Distinguished Cultural Worker; E. Chokieva, Senior Lecturer; S. Ankesheva, Women's Choir Director, Specialized Disciplines Teacher; Z. Nikitchenko, Specialized Disciplines Teacher); and the I. Tumanov Karakol State Medical University (N. Bogdanova, Mixed Choir Director, Specialized Disciplines Teacher).

Our graduates teach choir and theoretical subjects at the music schools: S. Atamanova (Children's Art School No. 8), I. Averkova (Children's Art School No. 6), K. Green (Children's Art School No. 8), L. Gerasimenko (Children's Art School No. 5), T. Trusova (Children's Art School No. 2), E. Fisenko (choirmaster at the Holy Resurrection Cathedral), G. Muratalieva (P. Tchaikovsky Children's Art School in Karakol), Z. Nikitchenko (Children's Art School in Leninskoye, choir and theoretical subjects director), E. Belekov (head of department, children's choir director at the Children's Art School in Kadji-Sai, Issyk-Kul Region).

Over time, the Conservatory's Conducting Department was also replenished with L.S. Tkacheva and T.K. Toktorbaev. Currently, the department's faculty includes A.K. Muratalieva, Honored Cultural Figure of the Kyrgyz Republic Professor, Yu. Ostapenko (Senior Lecturer, Distinguished Cultural Worker), and department graduates E.Yu. Ryabikhina and U. Bakirdin kyzy.

The mixed choir actively performs concerts. Over the past 30 years, the choir's repertoire has expanded. The following works were performed for the first time in Kyrgyzstan: the cantata "Minin and Pozharsky" by S. Degtyarev, the cantata "John of Damascus" by S. Taneyev, "Carmina Burana" by K. Orff, selected numbers from "Requiem" by W. Mozart, "Messa Solemnis" by F. Liszt, Mass in G major by F. Schubert, selected numbers from Mass in C major by L. Beethoven, accompanied by the A. Dzhumanov State Academic Symphony Orchestra under the direction of People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic Osmonaliev R. M., "Coronation Mass" by W. Mozart was performed with the student orchestra under the direction of Osmonov M. M., G. Fauré "Requiem", O. Kozlovsky "Requiem", numbers from "A German Requiem" by J. Brahms, works by contemporary composers Y. Butsko, V. Salmanov. M. Partskhaladze, and Kyrgyz composers B. Glukhov and B. Musaev. The choir's repertoire also includes a cappella works by Kyrgyz, Kazakh, Tajik, and international composers.

The KNC is of great importance for the development of art and culture in Kyrgyzstan, as it is the only educational institution in Kyrgyzstan that trains high-level professionals and performers for symphony orchestras, choral groups, teachers, singers, and performers, and promotes classical and folk music among the masses.

Thanks to their training at the KNC, our students demonstrate their mastery of performance in their future teaching and performing activities, their ability to reveal the artistic image of the works they perform, their ability to teach aspiring musicians, and to instill a love of aesthetic beauty, music, and art in general.
